MOTEL HELL! We chose this property ONLY because it was a Marriott property.I was scheduled heart surgery the next morning and wanted to be close to Baptist Hospital. We checked in around 5pm, went to dinner and came back around 8 pm. The next 6 hrs were horrific. We get out of the elevator and we have multiple eyes on us from people hanging out in the hallway and open doors. When we opened the door to the room, we noticed the faint smell of marijuana in this "No Smoking" hotel. We turn the AC on only to be overtaken by the scent of Christmas Tree air fresheners- strawberry scent that were stuffed in the filter. We called the desk and asked for lysol & were informed no one from Housekeeping or maintenance was available. We asked for coffee to use as a masking medium for the AC unit which was a window shaker at best. The desk clerk said" Use your coffee in the room". Ok, so we worked thru that and it worked. Next: I go into the bathroom and the door was completely scratched up consistent with a dog scratching the door. I ran the water to take a shower and within seconds all the dog hair comes up out of the drain. Being that I showered 4 hrs prior, I didn't want to complicate my evening changing rooms, not for a 4 am departure.I went to get ice and while walking thru the hallway on the 3rd floor, I see open doors & people hanging again out in the hallways eye balling me. Very un-nerving to see sketchy characters in a hotel like this. WE barricaded the door. From 10 pm to 2 am, doors being slammed, females arguing and yelling at their tricks, cars in and out of the parking lot blaring music and people talking on their cell phones in the hallway. I must have called 5 times to complain about this and the desk clerk said she would investigate. I asked to switch floors and we hear a knock at the door. Upon looking out the pee pole, we see somesleeveless white trash lady standing at the door. We got the hell out of there when the coast was clear. While walking out, we saw the same trashy character hanging out in the lobby talking to the desk clerk and grinning at us like Ha Ha. I asked the clerk to have the GM call me, and as of this writing, no one has contacted me nor return my 5 calls to the property. While walking to my car, I noted 90% of the cars were from local people. No rental cars, No out of state plates. Mostly gang banger cars and jalopies cars from the inner city. I implore to all the google reader not to take this as a comedic or funny review. This place is not safe place & several police friends from the Miami Dade Police department said this is place for known drug activity and prostitution.

Poor poor customer service and NO shuttle to the airport!

First I chose this hotel because the site indicated as well as the app states “complimentary shuttle” to the airport. As soon as we arrived we asked about scheduling because it did state we had to schedule it. The first lady said, “ohhhh I don’t know because we’ve had issues with the shuttle driver especially TO the airport but I will check with the manager and get back with you”. She jotted down my info and that was around 4pm. We went to our room and around 7 I called the front desk because I didn’t receive a follow up call. Someone else said, “ohhh no ma’am that is only for platinum and titanium members only” which before this stay I WAS!!! I advised that was NOT indicated on the site or the app, she said yes we need to update them. I told her I would not have chosen this hotel if I knew this. Then the morning of checkout, the guy didn’t ask how my stay was during check out which I was anticipating because there wasn’t hot water in the sink to wash our face so I offered that info to him as well as the issue of the shuttle. He was having trouble checking out because he thought I was another person without asking my room number. He did not acknowledge my complaint or concern at all so I made sure I got a printed receipt to make sure that was at least done. Also, we wanted coffee before heading to the airport- COLD. No fresh coffee that morning. I will not stay here again. I’ve stayed at several Marriott’s and L O V E them but this was horrible.

Olguita really is the best. Nice Breakfast setting & Service delivery. Room was quiet & comfortable. Room Service was punctuae & consistently good. Receptionist were polite & helpful, especially when i forgot toothpaste etc.

I have been staying at Aloft Dadeland for a while now and would like to express my gratitude for how well this hotel is run. This is not the first Aloft hotel that I have stayed at but it is the first where all the staff from GM (Mickey Massey), AM (Chris Bent), front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and kitchen staff really try to make your stay extremely enjoyable. Everyone is always asking if there is something they can do for you, something not every hotel focuses on. Another aspect I have noticed and come to appreciate is that the GM and AM are ever present on the floor making sure the staff is well supported and that they can take care of customers as best they can. It’s been my experience in other hotels that the senior staff is usually tucked behind closed doors and only appear when there is a problem, not here they are actively avoiding any unnecessary issues. My husband and I really liked this hotel. We only had an overnight stay, with no time to use any amenities, but it is in a great location, incredibly clean, has a funky/fun kind of vibe, free parking, and one of the best hotel showers ever! The bed was so comfortable, we slept great! We would definitely stay here again.
